6-week Intro to Belly Dance Session

During this session, we will focus on different elements of Belly Dance as an introduction to this Art form including technique, rhythms, folklore, explore belly dance fusion, and even learn to improvise.
Each class is broken down into the following 4 parts:
- Warm up ~10 mins
- Technique ~20 mins
- Combos ~10 mins
- Cooldown ~10 minutes
During our combos, we will learn a section of a choreography which will be broken down into 6 parts (one section per week). At the end of the session, you will have explored different elements of belly dance, learned about belly dance technique, and put together steps in combos for the full experience.
Session Details:
- Week 1: Technique (Basic 12)
- Week 2: Arabic Rhythms
- Week 3: Folklore (Baladi, Saidi, Khaliji)
- Week 4: Fusion (Tribal)
- Week 5: Fusion (Latin)
- Week 6: Improvisation
Attire:
Stretch pants, fitted tank top, yoga attire is ideal, anything that allows a full range of motion. You can bring your own scarf or borrow one from us.
Recommended:
Yoga Mat for cool down. We end class with a 10-minute cooldown, a yoga mat is highly recommended!
