Preparing for class

Here are some details about class and how to prepare... Arrive on time  but don't stress or become anxious if you are a little late. Safety is priority- drive safe, don't worry about messaging to let me know you are running late. Take your time, arrive safely, and slip into our class and your practice with peaceful energy. All is fine. Arriving a few minutes before class is recommended. We start promptly at the scheduled time. We are located inside of the New Orleans Healing Center- on the 2nd floor (UPPER), you have to go up 2 sets of stairs. Suite 200. Parking is available in the rear of the building. Yoga Mat recommended for the Thursday Intensive (7pm class) Health/Safety reminders:  Practice all the recommendations to help keep our community safe. Allow Yourself to be a Beginner

  BECOME A DANCER AS AN ADULT Most of my students step into class, having NEVER taken a dance class before. Few have dance experience or took dance as a child. Yet, over the past 17 years of teaching this dance, I have guided thousands of students through the process of learning to belly dance and hundreds to the stage. Some are now dance teachers, performers, and trainers. It doesn't matter when you start... I, for example, stepped into my first belly dance class at age 30. Starting as an adult is sometimes better, especially for belly dance. This is a dance that comes to life through connection to real-life experiences that help drive powerful movements and connections. If you choose this journey... here are some thoughts I'd like to share with beginner dancers... No one is perfect, and no one expects us to be. Saturday Bootcamp 1/11

 For those of you who have signed up  for Saturday Belly Dance Bootcamp Here are some details about class and how to prepare... This session will take place at NOLA Spaces- 1719 Toledano St. New Orleans 70115 Arrive on time but don't stress or become anxious if you are a little late. Safety is priority- drive safe, don't worry about messaging to let me know you are running late. Take your time, arrive safely, and slip into our class and your practice with peaceful energy. All is fine.  11am: As always, we plan on entering the studio space (Studio 1 upstairs) right at 11am (there is usually a class right before us that exits at 10:55am).  12pm: We will not do an extended "cool down" for Saturday classes so you will not need a yoga mat. Health/Safety reminders: Practice all the recommendations to help keep our community safe. Wear leggings/belly dance pants. Some choose skirts, bike shorts, or stretch pants.
