Intro to Belly Dance vs. Pure Beginners?

What is the difference between the Pure Beginners Session and the Intro to Belly Dance? The Intro to Belly Dance Session will give you a taste of the different approaches to belly dance and will delve a little into Arabic rhythms, building on technique as well as the cultural appreciation of the dance. Intro to Belly Dance Session Details: Week 1: Technique (Basic 12) Week 2: Arabic Rhythms Week 3: Folklore (Baladi, Saidi, Khaliji) Week 4: Fusion (Tribal) Week 5: Fusion (Latin) Week 6: Improvisation  The Pure Beginners Session is a gentle way to be introduced to the Art of Belly Dance focusing on Basic Technique and the ideas of layering and isolation. I wanted to invite you to join us in January for our new year sessions. We have a few options starting in January: 6-Week Intro to Belly Dance (starts January 10) Thursdays 7pm ( $75 or class card) 3-Week Pure Beginners Session (starts January 12) Saturdays 11:30am ( $50 or class card) Both of these are great for beginners and new students. If you have a class card, you can use your card to attend both. Our 6-week Belly Dance Intensive "Zills & Drills" may be just what you are looking for!!! Each class is broken down into the following 3 parts: Warm up ~10 mins Technique Drills ~30 mins Cooldown ~10 mins Attire: Stretch pants, fitted tank top, yoga attire is ideal, anything that allows a full range of motion. You can bring your own scarf or borrow one from us. Recommended: Yoga Mat for cool down.

Intro to Belly Dance Session  Starts January 10, 2019 Date/Time:  THURSDAYS 7pm-8pm January 10, 17, 24 & February 7, 14, 21  Location: Nola Spaces- 1719 Toledano St.  (Studio 1) To register, email: bellydanceneworleans@gmail.com During this session, we will focus on different elements of Belly Dance as an introduction to this Art form including technique, rhythms, folklore, explore belly dance fusion, and even learn to improvise.  Each class is broken down into the following 4 parts: Warm up ~10 mins Technique ~20 mins Combos ~10 mins Cooldown ~10 minutes During our combos, we will learn a section of a choreography which will be broken down into 6 parts (one section per week). At the end of the session, you will have explored different elements of belly dance, learned about belly dance technique, and put together steps in combos for the full experience.
